Wow! We can’t believe they did this…

We can’t believe they did this, but we’re so thankful they did.

In four months from now, a small group of BayState Eye Center employees will embark on a mission to Mexico - a mission to help people see better in underserved communities.

Our missions are made possible through donations from patients and the community. And this year, we’re getting a BIG BOOST from a very special non-profit organization.

The group is called Mansfield Women of Today.

It is made up of 40 women who volunteer their time and services to help the community they live in. It originated back in 1985. And get this - some current members have been with the group since day one!

Mansfield Women of Today host two very popular fundraising events each year.

Just last month, it organized the Fire Truck Santa event. St. Nick himself rode through several Mansfield neighborhoods, passing out toys to more than 200 families.

A few months before that, MWOT hosted its annual Touch-A-Truck event at the Mansfield Municipal Airport. Each September, children are able to hop in the driver’s seat and honk the horns of more than 40 big trucks - everything from fire trucks to huge construction vehicles. More than 2,000 people attended!

Here’s the best part…

The proceeds raised from those events, and others throughout the year, are returned directly to several local businesses and charities.

We’re happy to share that BayState Eye Center is a very thankful recipient of a very generous donation to help fund our upcoming mission to Mexico!

The volunteer organization makes a huge difference in our community.

MWOT provides hot meals to seniors, families, and children in need during the holidays. Recently, It also made donations to the Mansfield Fire Dept., Mansfield Police Dept., a local food pantry, a domestic violence shelter, Cradles to Crayons, and many more groups.
