Meet Dr. Hentschel

Dr. Hentschel is the proud owner of Bay Eye Center in Cedarville where he provides high quality eye and vision care to Plymouth and surrounding communities. Dr. Hentschel is a dedicated optometrist with a passion for patient care and advancing the field through research. He graduated with honors from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. He continued his academic journey in Boston at the New England College of Optometry. There he earned his Doctorate of Optometry as well as a Master's degree in Vision Science with a focus on innovative methods for myopia control.

Dr. Hentschel provides care for patients of all ages focusing on every aspect of ocular health to provide patients with their best vision. His blend of clinical and academic expertise allows him to diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular conditions with precision and compassion. He conducts eye exams to assess and manage ocular disease including refractive error, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, and binocular vision disorders. He also performs soft and rigid contact lens fittings, provides consultations for refractive surgery, and works closely with other local physicians to co-manage complex ocular and systemic conditions.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Hentschel enjoys staying active with hobbies such as golf and soccer, as well as exploring new destinations through travel with his wife. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Hentschel is a die-hard Boston sports fan.
