Dr. Lynch's Mission Trip In Jamaica

"Helping someone see better is the greatest gift you can give."

Dr. Timothy Lynch recently returned from an incredible mission trip to Jamaica with the goal to improve the quality of peoples’ lives…


The results?

✅ Mission complete!


He and 38 other selfless volunteers from the US, Canada, UK, and Jamaica, helped 1,400 people improve their vision. Over the course of four days, people waited in lines, dozens at a time, to receive critical eye care and certain healthcare services. Dr. Lynch helped in the triage unit - assessing people’s vision and making sure they proceeded to the correct expert. 



“I’d say about 20-25% of patients had some form of eye disease, including glaucoma,” Dr. Lynch said.


They also assisted in distributing reading glasses and sunglasses. Additionally, 680 patients will receive prescription glasses once they are manufactured in the US and delivered back to them in Jamaica.


Furthermore, 28 patients received diabetic retina laser procedures to improve their vision and prevent blindness. This was a life-changing mission for a lot of people!


“There’s nothing like it. Helping someone see better is the greatest gift you can give,” Dr. Lynch said.


“We helped men, women, children, and grandparents. We helped everyone, but I remember one girl who tried on glasses for the first time and you could just see her reaction. She was in amazement. She literally could see the world in a way she never had before,” Dr. Lynch said. Here is a picture of her:

It’s those special moments that make it all worth it and Dr. Lynch reports “I’ll be going back next year.”
